This is the fifth issue of the ACM SIGMOD Digital Symposium Collection, DiSC. The aim of DiSC is now to become the "most comprehensive and timely source of information on database research." With the help of the DiSC board, we are able to extend the scope of the DiSC from the previous volumes and include full contents of 35 conference proceedings and journals. We are also able to include Sigmod/Pods 2002 keynote speeches by Dr. Rajeev Motwani, Professor Stanford University, Models and Issues in Data Stream Systems; Dr. Michael Stonebraker, Adjunct Professor Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Where Should We Go From Here? and Dr. Charles H. Bell, Vice President, Information Technology Infrastructure Amazon.com, Customer Experience in a Merchandising Platform.
We hope you will enjoy the material herein and we welcome your comments and suggestions at our DiSC feedback site.
