SIGMOD Record 29(3): Editor's Notes

• We completely revamped the look and feel of the paper and on-line versions.
• We launched an XML version hosted at the Universita di Roma Tre.
• We added a new section called ``Database Principles" edited by Leonid Libkin.
• Jignesh Patel signed on as ``Systems and Prototypes'' editor and Ken Ross signed on as ``Influential Papers'' editor.
• We did the groundwork for the in clusion of SIGMOD Record in the SIGMOD Anthology and DiSC.

In terms of future and on-going plans, I listed the need to continue our emphasis on breadth and quality, enhance the role of the Record in building the database research community, and encourage the publication of early results and visionary papers. Also, as with any paper-oriented publication, we must reassess our role in light of new publications and on-line access.

So, if you were busy working on your dessert during my part of the presentation, you are now up to date. For the rest of the reports, please see Rick's message. Also, please read the following important notices.
