Student Accommodations
Student registrants to ACM SIGMOD have the opportunity to choose cheaper alternate accommodations at Columbia University. Reservations are made via the conference registration site. At registration time (or after initial registration) students may elect to take the six-day accommodation package at a cost of $530. Accommodations are provided from June 22 through June 28. You can arrive later or leave earlier if you wish, but the cost of the accommodation will remain the same. *** The student housing cancellation deadline is June 2, 2013.
The rooms are in McBain Hall,
located at the corner of 113th street and Broadway in Manhattan. Check-in procedure is as follows:
Check-in at Carman Hall, located at 545 West 114th Street, near the corner of Broadway any time between 8am and 9pm on June 22 (or the day you arrive if you come later).
Please plan to check in before 9pm. If you are delayed and arrive after 9pm, there is a duty phone you can use to get yourself checked in
(646-634-9411). There will be a guard at the entrance of Carman Hall who can call the duty phone.
After check in, those who have no phones will have access to phones on every hall.
These phones only call out to local numbers but they will be able to call our office and the on call duty phone.
Rooms are single-occupancy, with shared bathrooms. Rooms have air conditioners, free wi-fi and wired internet access. For more information see http://housingservices.columbia.edu/content/mcbain.
McBain is close to subways at 116th street and 110th street on the number-1 line. A 15-minute subway ride will take you to Times Square (42nd street), a 3-block walk from the conference hotel.
